Ingredients: 3 large cooking apples Sugar to sweeten 110g/4oz butter 110g/4oz sugar 1 egg, beaten 110g/4oz flour Sliced almonds to sprinkle Method: 1. Stew apples very lightly, sweeten to taste. 2. Preheat the oven to 180°C/fan 160°C. 3. Melt the butter and sugar together in a saucepan and allow to cool. 4. Add the egg, then add the flour and mix. 5. Put the apples into a pyrex dish and pour the cake mixture over the apples. 6. Sprinkle with almond slices and bake for 1 hour.
