Ingredients: 450g/1 lb wholemeal flour 1 tsp breadsoda 1 tsp brown sugar 1 tsp salt 1 tbsp wheatgerm 1 tbsp bran 300ml/ ½pt buttermilk 1 egg (optional) 2 tbsp oil Method: 1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C. 2. Mix all the ingredients together, then pour into a lightly oiled loaf tin. 3. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 mins, then reduce the heat to 170°C/fan 150°C and bake or a further 40 mins.
