Ingredients:  225g/8oz butter, softened 225g/8oz caster sugar 4 eggs 225g/8oz plain flour ½ tsp baking powder 110g/4oz ground almonds 100g/3½ oz glacé cherries, chopped Method: 1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C and line a base of a cake tin with baking paper. 2. Beat the butter with the sugar in a bowl, then add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. 3. Add flour with baking powder, mix well. 4. Stir in the ground almonds and cherries and transfer to the prepared cake tin. 5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 mins.
