Ingredients: (makes 9) 280g/10oz plain flour 2 tbsp caster sugar 1 tsp dried yeast 50g/2oz butter, melted 1 egg, lightly beaten 100ml/3½ fl oz tepid milk Handful of sultanas Honey to glaze
Method: 1. Mix the flour, sugar and yeast in a large bowl. 2. Make a well in the centre and add butter, egg and milk. 3. Mix to form a soft dough and knead for 5 mins. Cover the bowl with cling film and leave in a warm place for an hour. 4. Put the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead briefly. 5. Roll out to a 12x9in rectangle and sprinkle with sultanas. Roll up the dough from the long edge like a Swiss roll and cut into 9 pieces. 6. Lightly grease a 9 inch square cake tin and put the 9 pieces in the tin, spacing evenly. 7. Cover with cling film and leave to stand for 20 mins. 8. Preheat the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C and bake the buns for 30 mins, then brush with a little honey and leave to cool.
