Chocolate cake Print E-mail

Ingredients:  
175g/6oz margarine
175g/6oz caster sugar
3 eggs
150g/5½ oz plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
30g/1oz cocoa
2 tbsp milk
50g/2oz milk chocolate
3 tbsp fresh cream
Chocolate shavings to decorate

Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C and grease and line a base of a round cake tin with baking paper.
2. Beat the margarine and sugar in a large bowl, add eggs, beating well after each addition.
3. Add flour with the baking powder, cocoa, milk and beat until smooth.
4. Transfer to the prepared tin and bake for approx 25 mins or until a skewer inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean.
5. Leave to cool and remove from the tin.
6. Break the milk chocolate into a small bowl, add cream and put the bowl over a pan with simmering water, stirring until melted.
7. Spread over the top of the cake, leave to set and sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
