Strawberry crème brûlée Print E-mail

Ingredients: (Serves 4)

1 tin of strawberries

500ml/ 17½ fl oz cream

5 egg yolks

50g/2oz caster sugar

1 tsp vanilla essence

 

Method:

1. Whisk the egg yolks, sugar and vanilla essence together.

2. Pour the cream into a small pan and bring to the boil, then pour into the egg mixture.

3. Divide strawberries between 4 ramekin dishes and pour the custard mix on top.

4. Place the ramekins in a water bath and bake at 150°C for approx 30 mins until set. Allow to cool.

5. Sprinkle with caster sugar and glaze under a hot grill until the sugar has caramelised.
