Fish fillets in a batter Print E-mail

Ingredients: (Serves 4)

2 tbsp flour

4 fillets white fish

Salt, pepper

For batter:

110g/4oz plain flour

1 tsp bread soda

½ tsp salt

1 egg

150ml/¼ pt milk

 

Method:

1. To make a batter sieve the flour, salt and bread soda into a bowl. Make a well in the centre of the bowl, add the egg and a little of the milk. Stir briskly, gradually adding the rest of the milk beating well all the time.

2. Season the fillets with salt and pepper and coat them with flour.

3. Dip each fillet in the batter and put in a deep fat fryer for about 10 mins according to the thickness of the fish.

4. Drain on kitchen paper and serve with chips.
