Mince sticks with cheese hearts Print E-mail

Ingredients: (Serves 2)  

500g/1 lb 2oz minced beef

1 onion, finely chopped

1 slice of white bread

1 tbsp mustard

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp cornflour

1 egg

Salt, pepper

Cheddar, cut into 4 sticks (approx. 2 inch long)

Dried breadcrumbs

 

Method:

1. Mix together minced beef, onion, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, cornflour and egg.

2. Soak the bread slice in some water, then squeeze out and add to the meat mixture.

3. Season well with salt and pepper and divide into 4 portions.

4. Shape a flat round from each portion, put a cheese stick in the middle, wrap around and roll until the shape is even and the cheese is hidden inside.

5. Dip each piece in breadcrumbs to coat and bake at 210°C/fan 190°C for 40-45 mins. Serve with mashed potatoes.
