Tuna & cheese pasta Print E-mail

Ingredients: (Serves 3-4)  
500g/1lb 2oz pasta (fusilli or penne)
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp plain flour
500ml/17½ fl oz milk
150g/5½ oz grated cheddar
1 large tin of tuna, drained
Salt, pepper

Method:
1. Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the packet.
2. In the meantime heat the butter in a saucepan, add flour and stir well. Gradually pour in the milk, stirring with a whisk until all the lumps are dissolved. Simmer the sauce for about 10 mins, stirring frequently.
3. Stir half of the cheese into the sauce, followed by the tuna. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
5. Mix together the cooked pasta with the sauce and transfer to a large ovenproof dish.
6. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and bake for approx 15 mins until the cheese is golden. Serve with a salad.
